Was looking for an interesting lease buster (something to kill miles back and forth to work to free up my lease for the trips to the Boat in Canada.
Was going to get an ST1300 or the like..and then saw this machine again. Went downtown Boston today and bought one. Should take delivery by end of this coming week.

it's 250cc Silver (or gray or whatever).

Can hardly wait. 70miles roundtrip commute is 17.50 in extra lease payments.... NOw that I do the math it doesn't work out that well... But will certainly free up some miles for the roadruns and get me to and from work super cheap.

Plus I really like the nifty front wheels. I have owned DUal SPort 550 yamie, Cbr600F4i, RZ350.

Was actually looking at bikes again and scooters. THe 3wheels sealed the deal. It will truly make the machine 3 seaons at least. (here near the Coast south of Boston there isn't relaly that much cold weather)

Thanks:) Looks like I hit a great forum on my first search! I thnk I will really like it. MY justifications are blown out the window. It'll probably just be the fun factor. I didn't like getting all crazee suited up to get on my crotch rocket. Much looking forward to the civilized feel of the scooter.

However, you'll still need to get suited up, anyway...

Good to hear. My wife is excited as well. THey had their first one in this week. Bunch coming in on tuesday as well. I think mine is in that group. They indicated it would be delivered by end of this month. Good thing i have warm riding gear still from my biking days. although my tummy may predicate largers sizes

Thanks for the encouragement. From the video I saw it looks like it will be fun for certain.

I rode one today at POC's New Rider Rodeo. It was amazingly stable and intriguing. Harley guys looked at me -sitting at a light with both feet on the scoot-like I was from Mars. You sure can lean WAY over.

Maz at Vespa Boston is the best. I was living in Malden (grew up in Peabody) when I got my Fly150 from them.

I remember saying to him "I don't know if I'm not getting ripped off here, or if you're just really good at your job, but I actually feel like I'm doing the right thing here." Turns out he Was really good at his job and I still wasn't getting ripped off!

Pretty much what sold me at Vespa Boston was being able to trade my car in and the offer of a fresh cup of espresso while I waited.

I bought mine a 'Herb Chambers' in Boston (or just north of Boston) Real friendly place.

I asked about the 400 and 500, however for my 70 mile commute this 250 should work just fine. The weight consideration will keep it a lil more agile than a 400 or 500. And i'm sure a pipe and ecu mod / injectors will yield another 4 or 5 hp....which is about 20-25% more.

by the by, i've been living in Mansfield now for 4 months. Moved here from Toronto.

Ditto...I'd be holding out for the more powerful version.

http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2006/11/20/piaggio-mp3-400-3-wheel-scooter/

Piaggio will probably own Smart cars before I decide on getting an MP3,
Who knows perhaps by the time I decide on getting one the MP3 will have a roof.

Heh

I had a blast on one. The dealer was keen to get some feedback. I only rode the 125, but i really liked it. They lean exactly to the angle you would on a 2 wheeler in the bends.

So does this make Rob the official first MV member that is not a dealer to own and have in their possession an MP3? We need pics with you on it, Rob!

We'll even give you a special title. Post four more times and you'll be a "member"

We'll take some photos on the weekend and post. I don't know that I can add much to the riding impressions already posted here.

My spouse's impressions may be more helpful. She's 5'5" and 120 lbs. I expect she'll have a different perspective on the size, weight and handling of the MP3.

Congratulations Rob and Quattroman -

Now the announcements are being made - it's time for some of us to
COME clean ......

I placed a deposit on a Moto Piaggio 3 a few weeks ago !!!!
Come on, with my raving can you say it's a surprise - NOT!
And yes the GTS stays, both machines are different yet have
a thrilling role to play in any scooterists life....

One test ride and you will be sold. I REPEAT do not test ride unless you are willing to sign the contract! Laughing emoticon

The MP3 is one serious fun machine, loves to lean further than I normally
do, and is sure footed and comforting at speed. And it's a technological
marvel.

The 250 cc will fulfill all my riding needs - it has ample acceleration for urban use, and I wouldn't want the extra weight of the 400 (Burgman 650 territory).

Here is a pic ..... Ms D

PS: Yes first batch are in Vancouver, mine will be in the second shipment....
