I take it you have a GT200? There have been many instances where the GT has a steering wobble while decelrating from 35mph. It have been talked about in depth here on the MV site.

On the upside: there is no shimmy @ ~70+ mph, and the <35 is workable.

hmm, just thinking about this the other day. Do you reckon we should do a poll and see how many of us have this problem, then we could forward our results to Vespa (Italy) and perhaps get an answer?

I have it on my GT 200, noticebly more than when I had stock Sava tyres. Now I got Michelin Pilots.

When I'm going strait my handle bars are pointed ever sop slightly to the right, once I get them perfectly strait you think that might take some wobble away?

There have been countless polls here already, along with umpteen million threads. We've definitively shown that the problem is widespread. Piaggio doesn't care, though. It's in the design of the GT and GTS. It can be masked, but short of redesigning the front fork, it can't be fixed. My advice is to live with it, since it only occurs under very specific circumstances.

No. I think the two are independent of each other.

it's oscillation. they all suffer from it. you'll notice it becomes more pronounced it you take your hands off the handlebars

Does this problem occur mainly in the GT/GTS or is it also common to other Vespa models and to other bikes/brands more generally?

GT and GTS. The problem, as far as I know, does not affect the ET or LX.

I'm guessing the GT60 and GTV also suffer from the same problem, but as most of them are still on the stock Sava tires, we haven't heard yet.

I'm not, but then I had the shimmy on my GT prior to my GTS, and for the first six months or so of GTS ownership, I had no wobble due to the stock Savas it came with.

I still wouldn't trade my GTS for anything.

I don't see the Vespa badge going beyond 250 at this point in time.

The wobble, which I seldom feel on my GTS and the wobble which I frequently feel on my partner's GT, don't make my love for the scooters any less.
