Tonight I'll be welding my 2 part GT exhaust together so as not to have any "gasket" issues in the future.

The scooter rack on the back of my Explorer was designed by me, and welded up (off site) by my father. Works like a charm.

I'd add a few more tie-downs. Looks like a number of parts blew off your scooter.

At the risk of giving too much away, if you want a commercial one, check out this site. They'll run you about $150, and they're very well built. Maybe a little too well built, I think they could be a bit lighter and smaller and still be very effective.

That was a different one. Perfectly functional and cheap, but I wanted something that would make loading in and out of the truck even easier. The Condor scooter chock, coupled with some Cargo Buckles (think seatbelts for cargo) plus Jettin bar ends make for an incredibly easy load: just wheel the scooter into the chock, and it will hold the scooter in place by the front wheel. Pull the hook of each cargo buckle onto the Jettin bar ends, ratchet each cargo buckle a couple of times, and you're done. No tangled tiedown straps, no Canyon Dancer, and one person can do it by themselves (except for pushing the damn GTS up into the truck to begin with). Viola!

Thanks Jess for the link. I like that one fine but isn't Rich's designed for both front and rear wheels? It looks like you place the front wheel in the chock and then raise the rear bar up to hold the rear of the scoot in place.

Don't know what Rich's intent was.

On closer inspection I see that it isn't hinged.

I have 4 of the Commercial Version and they work damn good but they are not light. Did I say they are heavy.
