I have developed a homemade air induction kit. Please see the pictures. Yes, I know it could be done better and also look better, it is my first try and I will improve it later on! At least know I know it works. My first impression is that the engine sound groatier and feels a bit more responsive, ok, it could be placebo effect but it only takes 15 minutes to do it and if you are not satisfied you can put it back to stock in 10 minutes.
All you have to do is separate the plastic that goes into the tube that goes into the air filter box and replace that restraining plastic with metal air tube,(I bought it from gates automotive) shape it with your hands, stick it together with good strong tape and turn it down to get the air from the side of the bike and not from the front which helps to get cold air straight inside at speed. The best idea would be to fit some type of cone so that the air goes inside more easily, any manufacturers willing to developt it four our little vespas together with a less restraining filter foam?
