Ok, this is a little embarrassing but how do i open teh glove box on my ET4? I've had it for just over a month and never had any need to but I'm going on a trip tomorrow and it would be useful!

I know it's prob simple but can't figure it out and feel a bit stupid!

Any help would be appreciated....

If it's the same as the LX150 then you push in with the ignition key in the off position.

Is the key in the vertical position and not the lock position?

excellent!
I had it in the vertical position, just tried it again and heard it unlock then just pushed it in at the bottom and it popped open.
happy days - thanks

glove box popping open at full speed?
Once, when I was on a highway and had the throttle opened up all the way (60ish mph) on rough pavement, my glove box popped open. I had to pull over to put my registration in the pet carrier (where I have kept it ever since) before my registration could blow out and be lost. Then it popped open once more before I reached my destination.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done with reasonable expense (other than duct tape). The problem hasn't occurred again -- but I haven't been running at top speed on rough pavement since then.

I have had this happen a few times. And did lose my registration. I now keep it in the pet carrier. Just be very careful in closing the glove box and making sure it clicks shut. I find that if I pay close attention to closing it properly, I don't have any problem with it.

Happened to me once or twice on my ET4. Happens on the Stella about once a month!

For what it's worth,

When I had my first scooter stolen some years ago, the police officer making the report asked me for the registration. I told him it was in the scooter (the dealer told me to leave it in the pet carrier).

He said, "Now the thief has it."

I keep my registration card in my wallet now.

If you're going to keep it in the scooter, you should at least have a copy of it at home. Just in case.

And now you're in the position of trying to decide which tiny, tiny items to put in there!!

I actually tried to put gloves in mine once, and they were too big...

If it is like the Fly150 you can push it in to open the glove box in the off and on/run position also.

I have a similar problem with my ET2. Yesterday, I took the glovebox panel off as I was fitting some new stripes ( photos to follow) to the legshield. After I refitted the glovebox, it would no longer open. I can get it open by inserting a small screwdriver under the ign lock when it is depressed and pressing the screwdriver on the opening mechanism. It seems as if the lock barrel is not pressing the lever far enough. There doesn't appear to be any adjustment possible but I am wondering if maybe I have either bent or dislodged a spacer from the opening lever arm. I might "fix" it by putting a bit of clear hose over the arm and therefore increasing its stroke. Just wondering if anyone else has struck this?

I've always kept photocopies of my vehicle license/registration and insurance in my vehicles, and the originals at home. Just a habit.

Persh,

I had the same problem on my GTS after I re-installed the glove box panel. When I pushed on the ignition key it did not hit the lever to open the glove box ( assembly error by me ).
