Modern Vespa

Finally got a picture of Rosie at work. It must not have been raining earlier because usually most of the motorcycles drive their cages if it rains. This is one of two huge motorcycle parking areas at work. Each area holds probably 20 PTW's.

Rosie looks very comfortable wearing that shawl. Nice picture of the variety available in powered two-wheelers. But Rosie is obviously the fun ride.

scooter parking at work:

At Depth of Field University.

Got to work today at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden.

My daily work commute entails:
1) Scooter to train station
2) One hour and fifteen minute train ride
3) Three NYC subways
4) And a walk
OR
3A) One NYC subway
3B) CitiBike crosstown
3C) And a walk

Door-to-door, about 2 hours each way.

The high point is my 2006 GT200, going and coming. Here she is, waiting:

50ft from my office door! Parking cost 0. Sometimes best part of my day is the "commute"!

Came across this thread somehow and thought I would resurrect it!

Every day is Take Your Scooter To Work Day for me. I invented this VIP parking spot right outside the office door. Nobody has said anything about it yet... but my coworkers always seem to make comments about the Vespa haha.

35 mile commute each way on the 101 fwy and it is definitely the best part of my day. I actually get excited to leave for the office in the morning. I usually get up extra early and I"m the first one in, just because I love beating traffic and riding down an open road. Sometimes I take it out for lunch and get a nice break.

Or maybe Tom Hanks is on his way to the liquor store? Or he could be on his way to work...just not parked there yet...

Looks like you have a sweet place to work and you definitely have the best parking spot!

Having recently transplanted myself from the right side of the Hudson to the left side (see description under avatar), one of the purposes of getting my Vespa was to assist in drumming up business in my current location (I'm a freelance IT guy). Back in Gotham, clients are a subway or bicycle ride away, but on the Joisey side I need something with an engine, but can't stand driving, so it's almost <i>always</i> Take Your Scooter to Work Day.

I commute every day and I love it. My company has some parking lots marked "MC PARKING" though the letters are a little difficult to read.

From two wheels to six( The two wheels wins hands down!)

I keep em both ay work n choose a different ride each day ...... im not leaving one in the shed at home its not waterproof ......

I don't always work weekends, but when I do, I park next to the freight elevator. Shhh... :lol:

Today I parked in the garage because some winds of 9-10 BFT are expected this afternoon.

So I took a welcome break from work and we had a cup of coffee together.

Mine's the one in the middle of this little trio. University of Western Australia, Perth. Usually good scooter weather here!

Working late, after everyone else has gone home, can be tiring. But a glance outside in the dark might reveal a trusty friend, waiting as patiently as ever.
