Went today to my dealer to get a new rear tire and appointment to put it on. As soon as we made it into the parking lot, my wife seen a new MP3 sitting outside. After we looked it over, she told me this is for me. I went inside to make the app. and get tire, she is talking to salesman. I come back into the show room and we're going to get one. Ruby Red is the color, but will have to wait for it to come in. I'll have pictures when we finally get to ride it. I quess this means I now am the sole rider of the ET4.

You'll have fun with it! I just test rode one today and it was a kick. The local dealer has a demo model and it was a nice day to try it out. The wheel locking is something I'd have to get used to. I liked the black - it's kind of metallic and looked good. It felt like a regular bike until going into a curve where it felt more stable than on 2 wheels. I wasn't sure what to expect which is why I was so interested to try it out. I was surprised it is a 449 pound bike, though. I knew it was heavier than the GTS but didn't know it was that much heavier.

Honda Sport dealer in NJ has MP3's. I went to check them out today. They said I had to put down a deposit and when mine came it I could test drive it then. I think not. Totally turned off by the guy. I am not buying myMP3 there.

Interesting. A number of other Piaggio dealers are doing open houses.

Congratulation, Melbro. I picked up my MP3 last Monday and living in Wisconsin, I had a total of 4 hours to ride it until the temperature dropped.
But the interesting thing that you alluded to was the color. I was expecting the Ruby Red. For the 3 months I waited and when it finally came in, it was identified as Cherry Red and actually looked like more of a metallic (sparkles) plum or purple. Now, I'm very pleased about that as I like the color (I really never knew how I'd feel about a bright red scooter) but I was puzzled by the "switcher-roo". The dealer really couldn't explain it but I will be very curious as to what the color of your MP3 really turns out to be.

thanks vince.. The dealer showed us a helment that in all was very deep red or plum in color. Since I have yet to see this color in person, I would agree more with you on color. THe dealer called it ruby red and I am sticking to it, no matter what color it turns out to be. By the way how was your few hours of riding. It was 27 here this morning, so I would not be riding much anyway. NOT. I would be riding till ice came out my nose. I am so excited

I know I sound kind of whimpy with that temp thing but I seem to be all to sensitive to the cold. If I'm too conscience of the cold I can't enjoy the ride.
But, I'm preparing to brave the elements as a I write...now if it would only stop snowing.

What I ment to say is , I will go ride it when it comes in no matter how cold it is. We had to wait about 7 weeks before we could ride the ET4 when we got it. I don't think I could do that again since I know the thrill. I was just outside and about froze. My wife wants to plant some grass seed, so she thought we needed to mow the lawn first. Lucky the mower would not start. smart mower.

That is one very sexy scoot. Wow.

It goes to show that Italians don't seem to be able to handle goody box deliveries, roadside assistance, parts logistics, and customer service, but do they know about styling.

I'm in lust.

Congrats on the new purchase.

Vince, first, welcome. I grew up in Mke and my wife's family is in Muskego so we'll drive past you for holidays.

Re: the cold. Don't feel bad. This current cold snap has been a huge surprise and along with the cold came some nasty wind. Patch ice is no fun with a scooter that you don't know! (though I'd rather be on an MP3 in it than my GT!)

Mp3/Muskego
Thanks for the welcome. MN's not the warmest place on the planet - yet, so I guess you know about cold. Not to get too personal, but I taught in Muskego for 26 years . Your wife may have been a student of mine. Small world.
Tomorrow it's supposed to reach 40 degrees so I'll try taking the scooter out then. Really looking forward to it.

What is the "OTD" prices everyone is getting on the MP3? By out the door I mean complete, keys in hand, butt on seat riding away, price. (Tax, title, tag, setup, freight, whatever else the dealer can think of 8) included).

That red looks awesome!

Kinda looks like BV500 burgandy in this picture. Still nice! Red is my favorite color.

OTD prices please.

OTD price will be different for every transaction. Figure MSRP plus delivery, PDI, tax and title.

Well it is finally here. Just got it home and waiting for a friend to come help unload it. The Dark Cherry Red is really good looking. I have had four people already go ape over the color. Pictures to follow later. The dealership was all out of temp license plates, actuality the state of Tennessee is out. I am a little afraid to start riding it around with a piece of paper stuck to the back saying Reg. applied for. The dealer said he would pay the fine if I got one. Anyway it is a great day.

I really like the Cherry Red color of the MP3, hoping they still have that color available when the 500's come as that will be my choice. The wifes MP3 will be Excalibur Gray as that is the color she wanted, matches my BV250 though.

I got to ride it last evening. It is going to take some time before I will be at ease riding it. I sit right on the hump (still runs) will have to get the seat raised. It also wants to lean at almost any chance it gets. Also had a hard time keeping it under the speed limit!! I have a big parking lot nearby that I'm going to do a little more training on before I get on the road to much. Hope yours get there soon.

When I was doing my web research during the winter I kept coming up with that bright red color - the color I decided was for me (visability concerns). It wasn't until about a week before I accepted delivery (Early April) that I found out that the dark red color was the one delivered to the U.S. Even my dealer was surprised, or so he said. I was and am pleased with the dark red but the bright red certainly has a lot of appeal.

Was that a 250cc or bigger?

Everyone who has seen it has fall in love with the color. It was the main reason it took so long for my order to come in, was the color. The dealer had several silver ones and a couple black ones also. The color I like even more is the vintage red on the vespas. As I said before it will take a little time for me to get comfortable riding this fine machine.

The day my BV500 was being delivered to my yard (in a snowstorm) I went to the dealer's and they had a MP3 in the showroom. I loved it! Someday when I'm ready to trade in my BV500 it will be for a MP3 but for now I'm having a blast getting to know my BV.
