WOW!!!!

---caption of the video --- Out for a group ride. I had never met the guy who was riding the ZX-10 before. As I was slowing down he was still going fast and said he never saw the trailer. The gopro camera is mounted to the front of my Ducati 848 Evo. He survived the crash with only a broken arm and broken leg however he was airlifted to the hospital. ----

man!!! --- my little accident that I caught on my GoPro is nothing compared to this --- wow, i feel sick now...

Looks like the first thing to hit pavement was side of helmet near chin. Think I'll keep wearing my full face helmet.

Think I'll keep not running into trailers.Razz emoticon

I wish deciding not to be in an accident was all it took. That looked nasty.

after looking numerous times the rider was on the brakes early enough to fully stop before impacting the trailer. the rider looked to have plenty of distance in which to slow more or even fully stop. IMO a unskilled rider going tooooo easy on brakes in that situation.

I might be reading wrong, but you might've mistaken the red bike on the far right which have already slowed down as the one that hit. From what I see, it seems like the orange bike never slowed down and came from way behind of where the video began.

He probably thought the guy filming was gonna move over and pass on by...

I feel bad for the Ducati...

The trailer offers much less resistance than a vehicle would - probably contributed to the relatively minor injuries.

True! However, if it had been a box trailer, it would have been a different outcome.

Removed from YouTube for "shocking and disgusting" content.

Whew, I had to think about clicking on it too. Not like I want to watch that stuff, but sometimes if you can learn something, it's worth it.

Saw this video of a motorcyclist who pulled out infront of a truck and stopped and the truck just rolled over him. That was a big wake up call for me, since I ride with huge trucks all the time. I do my best to STAY AWAY from them and never stop at light infront of one unless you know it has really seen you.

Yikes.

On our recent trip to Yellowstone, we saw a couple on a Harley almost get squashed by a huge RV (the kind that's the size of a bus, hauling an suv) as they pulled out of an overlook. The rider was watching for traffic to clear to his right and neglected to check the blind curve to his left before he pulled out. Luckily the RV driver saw that the rider wasn't looking and hit his brakes and swerved - we had to swerve to give the RV room to swerve.

The rider noticed the RV at the last possible second, and somehow wrestled his beast into a tight u-turn -- which put him on a direct line to do off a cliff. Somehow he managed another wobbly, duck-walking u-turn, all while his wife was screaming in his ear!

I think it took my heart an hour to slow down after that.

Just yesterday I had a pedestrian saunter right in front of me at a very close distance. Yes, she was looking right at me. As I sat there, somewhat stunned, she muttered something like a crazy person as she continued across the road. Fortunately I had been going only about 35-40 mph at the time, and my inner voice told me to slow down even though it seemed incredible that someone would be so stupid. The MP3's brakes work pretty darn well!

Makes you wonder what had his attention. Sleeping? Messing with a gps or some other electronic gizmo? Glad he wasn't hurt worse.
