I am still offering Steering Plugs for the MP3 250, 400 and 500. I am including the instructions below, as well as new pictures. For those of you who missed the previous posts, these plugs are to be inserted into the steering column hollow tube. These plugs will support the tube and give structural integrity to steering column and keep the handle bars inline. The plugs are made of 4140 High Carbon Steel and will not cause any corrosion problems. The 250 plugs have a flat machined on them to accommodate the bolt. The 400 and 500 plugs are solid with an 1/8" shoulder. Total length is 1 5/8ths.


Instructions for installation:

1. Take off 4 bolts holding the handle bars on

2. Take off plastic shroud, you will see the hole/hollow tube (which is your steering column)

3. Loosen clamp, insert plug, on the 250 flat side towards bolt on clamp. On the 400/500 just insert plug. The 400/500 are a close fit and may need to be tapped in.

4. Tighten the clamp as per specs.

If the tube is already crushed, there is a slight taper on the front of the plug, as seen in picture, to facilitate it going into the tube . It will maintain the structural integrity of the tube, and bring back the concentric tube.

Has anybody hear from Ironmike 350 lately about the steering plugs for the 250/400/500 Mp3 I have sent him a PM on 10/1/12 and sent him a money order on the 22nd of Sept. are they back ordered anybody know what is happening thanks Bill Steele
