Folks Fuzzy and I did some final rout mapping and now we need to let ya'll know some details.

rates are $74.95 a nite , they have 2 beds or 1 bed units
the $74.95 is only good thru 31 Dec 2012 if you make your reservation before than. AFTER 1 Jan 2013 the rate is going to $79.95.

So get a callin folks and save a few bucks.

They have 9 rooms block for us together so just ask for the MP3 gathering rooms. They do have plenty of rooms after the block of 9 they are in the next rows.

There is also a microtel hotel in town if folks are interested in that. Don't have any more info on it for you though, thats up to you.

There is wifi there and there is good cell signal. 200+ tv channels, covered pavilion with a BBQ grill we can use too. There is also a bike wash station that is on site for folks to use as well.

Fuzzy and I did the final routes and are pretty darn pleased with them for Fridays and Saturdays rides.Sunday we have some options to discuss with everyone on Fri/Sat as to where and what. one option is to goto
Wheels through Time in Maggie valley on Sunday . We will see what the group wants when we are all together.

I can already predict what will happen. That's the weekend my son and grandson celebrate birthdays. No doubt getting out of that will be tough. Still, I'll probably make reservations. Never know. I may get a day in of riding.

I rode 350 miles yesterday through the mountains up to Ashville and back. Roads are in good shape. Lots of leaf peepers out.

Just made reservation for Ponydrvr and myself. Looking forward to the spring gathering!

Can't commit just yet. Wife is now talking about taking two weeks in Maine in July (I guess London is out) and I will have to save up enough leave days. But this is not yet set in stone and I may find I can squeeze out a couple extra days if I can work a couple holidays and comp them.

don't know anythng about it, prices , nothing, just that it looks to be the closest.

There are other camp areas with-in a 15 mile radius. Again don't know anything about them for rates or what they have.

If someone is interested and during their searching of camp areas and is trying to pick on chime in and maybe someone has more insite for you.

WTF? What is the purpose of the loop over? Just to make it a fun road?

2. Built the road from two different directions and couldn't get the ends to connect.
3. A little bit of moonshine never hurt anybody.
4. The tree in the middle is the home to an endangered species.

I love that loop. Done it three times on Betel myself. Looking at the possibility of making this one happen.

Instructions are to roll on the throttle in a curve. With these never ending curves the rev limiter will limit this.

Oh, yeah, it was great fun to hit the gas going through them. So much so that I went up and down them several times. I wonder where my videos of that went...

Today, not sure. IBM planned their big Impact conference in Vegas for the week before. The boss has submitted budgeting for it. If it doesn't go through, I'm headed your way. If it does, I'm gonna have to pass on this one and head for the Venetian...

Well, I finally got around to booking a room. Looking forward to the gathering!

I didn't get a room number when I booked, but it may be on the email confirm when I get it.

Food for thought, possible retirement next year, so up in the air on this trip. Would believe the loops are to make a quick vertical elevation change. Probably safe decline for trucks ?

Also to remind everyone the hotel pricing increase after 31 Dec. So get your reservations in kids. Now start planning your ride to and from because the rides there are all taken care of.

start thinking of tires and other maintenance items to have done a month prior because that is only 4 months away.

I'm in, just booked my room. Spoke with Linda and Berry who are the owners and so far there are four rooms booked for the Spring Gathering.

ok folks we are into Jan, better get those reservations in now. Don't wait till the last minute for planning time off and everything.

I don't think I will be able to make this one either. Getting kinda pissed at how many gatherings I keep missing that are so close to me. I've got Finals starting on the 1st, through the 7th. I won't know until much closer what days my tests will be on.

Just made Reservations. I also asked about RVs. He said yes he had room for them. 20 dollars a night. No hookups. He also said he would park em far enough away so that their generators would not brother anyone. Not sure about tents, forgot to ask him.

Cherohala parkway now closed due to landslide. It should be open by the gathering, though.

Hey gang my wife (the Boss) is a midwife and really can't commit to accompanying me to the meet. If she can't will my son and his hard-tail Harley be welcome? He's a fine lad all 6'9" of him and quite a sight on the 20 year old two wheeler. Both my boys started riding ten years ago on our farm on 150 Yamaha dirt bikes. We have some great tales to tell of bike week in Daytona. Looking forward to meeting you all. P.S. I love my DDS 35 watt, 5000 degree HIDs. Thanks "old and Bubba for the tip.

If I can make it in the spring I don't plan on adding to the count.

I know I am virtually not even a member here any more, but the gathering times really kicked me this year....my graduation after 6 years of school are May 8-11 with Finals ending the week before. With family coming in and everything, it'll be near impossible to get away. I had hoped to rent something if the ol 500 wasn't up and going.

Anyways, I'll still be there in spirit and hopefully one day back on the road and in the mix, either on 3 wheels or 2.

Fuzzy and I will be planning the reroute this coming weekend for the road closeure on 441 thru the national park as it won't be open till the middle of May at best right now.
