Modern Vespa

After four long months waiting, its finally here! First one in Brunei, so i expect maintenance to be a bit tricky. Will have to figure something out.

Took a little test ride, what a world of difference from the Lx150ie I've been riding for the past year. Organising some rides across the frontiers of Borneo island, shall post pics as it happens.

Will definitely come back here if i have random noob questions to ask you guys

That's a great pair! Wish I still had my old LX... Sold it to fund the GTS300 purchase. Maybe someday I'll buy another one. I really do like the modern "smallframe" bikes.

Congrats! If you want to make sure you have basic stuff around for your services, you can always order kits (belt, rollers, oil filter, spark plug, etc.) online. You'll likely save yourself a bit of money too, but make sure your mechanic is okay with you supplying your own parts.

Just thought i'd update.

3000kms and so far no complaints with the scoot! She's a beast! Haven't encountered any high/low speed wobble so far even with the topbox on. A lot of rattling and chattering after a cold start but that goes away quite quickly. A lot of it found was because of dirt and muck making its way into where the belt is, quick squirt of compressed air through the holes where the little chrome cover on the engine is and its sorted.

I find the belt dries up quite quickly in this humidity though. May need to consider getting those online kits that was suggested.

Brunei is predominantly untouched jungle, went on an adventure on the backroads and into the hinterland. Had to ride through floodwaters and almost ran out of fuel in the middle of nowhere. But came across the most beautiful places. Beats driving anyday! (Except maybe when its monsoon season)

JK so envious. That's the one place i want to go before i die and i've been everywhere. Have fun with the scoots. Didn't know they even had Vespa's there. How are the roads? Be careful but have fun
