I was sick the day we had poetry.

American Haiku:
1st line: 5 syllables
2nd line: 7 syllables
3rd line: 5 syllables

You created a whole new poem, and borrowed 2 lines. I see no problem with what you have done. No need for forgiveness! No lie, I thought about using D'Ascanio in the original. Using think his name causes the second line to have one too many syllables.

At least that is how I have always interpreted it, I am not very linguistic. Only familiar with English and French. Please correct me if I have been saying the name wrong.

Damn, I had seven with Cor-A-Din-O Dask-An-Yo. But I hate arbitrary rules anyway, so let's go with eight and I'll feel like I got away with something I wasn't supposed to.
