Just not sure why Leno is the main subject, what about the guy who WAS taken down!
It is just a name dropping tactics. Jay Leno was totally not involved in that crash and never at risk. But without pinning it to his name, that would have just been one of the countless crash videos.

You say it with so much authority Arno...must be true. Watch the slow motion. If that was Jay then yes he was definitely at risk. A second or two off. And yes it would just be another crash video if Leno was not in it. But that is the point isn't it?

You are probably right on this one and I am over reacting on too much sensationalism in the news vs real news.

The jerk factor is multiplied by the power of these bikes, allowing for speed bursts. Riding in a scooter group would be safer from that aspect alone.
Not necessarily, we booted a Silverwing driver from our group rides a couple years ago for his speed bursts and "creative" passing techniques.

I won't say who but we had a guy at one of the gatherings who, even though staggered, seemed to not be reacting to the slow downs quickly enough. Surprised me a few times as he shot up along side. Always seemed to be behind me even though I tried evasive maneuvers.

Why, thanks for proving my point

While the point about the increased ability of some jerk to haul off on a high power machine is understood...

The worst group riding I've ever seen was at a scooter rally...far worse than I ever experienced on motorcycle rides at which, so far, I've seen few if any problems at all.

It's not the machine, it's the rider.

No doubt. A jerk is a jerk, no matter what vehicle he/she is riding.
