i have a 50 special with a pk xl engine


I cannot make it marry to the fitting is there some special technique or am i being daft?

Just a thought. But from the 2nd photo if that is the bracket is it upside down? It might fit it seems to me if it is.
I'm probably very wrong and apologise in advance if that is the case.

I'm with Renoir, I think when you turn the bracket around, then loosen the other two bolts (very loose, but keep then nuts attached so you will not have problems connecting this end) holding the muffler. Then connect the bracket, then retighten the other two bolts, you will be OK.

I did try that but the bracket then rubs on the rear tire. I did get my partner to vigorously bounce up and down on the scoot and the exhaust itself doesnt move at all

Is the bracket the wrong way around. If that lip was facing inwards you would probably be ok and it would hold it steady on the bar. Just another thought.
