Will there be a separate patch for those owning Vespas requiring 4%? And don't forget there was a model using 6%, those will need a patch, too.

Is there a sex offender registry you will be using to verify prospects? Will it be a state registry or one using federal guidelines? Will this include statutory rape convictions where there was less than two years age difference (19 year old having sex with a 17 year old)? Will there be exceptions for simple exposure convictions such as urinating in public, since some states categorize such exposure as a sex offense?

I have a 2005 Vespa PX. Do I qualify with such a model? The PX was being manufactured in 1985, even though mine is a 2005.

You are from dayton, no? Dayton Ohio has the Gem City Rollers. That club puts on Roll In The Hay Rally which is a good time.

Would I be excluded with my 1957 NSU Prima D? Is this an exclusive club for Vespa and lambretta or can other makes be included? NSU, Zundapp, Hienkel, Triumph, Fuji, etc.

Your requirements are already complicated.
I belong to a vintage scooter club here in Portland, and it's a balancing act trying to keep it vintage only.
Hell, I own 5 or more sweet vintage Vespas, but what if I want to only ride a new Vespa to the rallies?

Starting a scooter club is too much work.

Rather than starting a club, just make the patch and give them to riders that you think are who you want to ride/hang with.

W2P: What in the EFFING HELL is the shit with the "No sex offenders." I mean, who in the hell even bothers to make this a requirement? Dude, it's a damn weird thing to even bring up, let alone make a "rule" for. How about other really really really weird rules:

No people who sell drugs to babies.
No arsonists.
No gin and tonic drinkers.
No people who collect dead peoples' ears.

I like the idea of riding with a bunch of vintage 2 strokes, but riding with a ton of friends is even better. About 3/4 of my scooter pals are on Stella's and moderns. Great idea, but even in a massive metropolis, it would be hard to get a good ride going on any given day. When it happens, I am in though!

I am not a convicted sex offender, but my mom had a pet sheep named Lambchops when I was a kid. We would play rodeo with the woolly beast (I was the cowboy you sick fucks, stop your snickering!). Are reformed sheep abusers permitted?

I think the main point a few were trying to make is that a "club" is all about excluding people for this or that or the other reason, and why would you want to exclude people from an "online scooter club?"

We don't belong to any scooter clubs. Our alliances are focused on friends. We ride with friends, and we support rallies put on by friends, and we support friends who ride. We don't need a patch nor dues nor added obligations to do things we don't feel like doing on our days off. Just ride and have fun.

Yeah, I get what you are saying. Though, when you say "we" you don't speak for everyone because there are members of clubs here. It is not a big deal, I am not offended. I think this thread turned out humorous. Like I said it was a late night impulse to start this thread pertaining to forming a club. I'm over it. Silly idea. Pure madness at it's best.

No doubt! My good intentions have not and never will be ruined, I just have no desire to feed into drama and negativity. I may or may not give this a go in a different format somewhere else or at another date and time. That design is way more badass than mine! I just samples the face of Cornelius from the film Planet of the Apes.

May this thread prevent others from making the same mistake, only to be chastised for their efforts.

Here is my go at the humor of it all.

1.) Must have a mullet hairstyle.
2.) Scooter cannot start until 5 or more kicks.
3.) One electrical issue or more.
4.) Use of hand signals while riding only.

Why is it that when someone has a poorly executed idea they lash out at anyone pointing out such failures, branding it as "negative?."

How about not having such a sucky idea? Or maybe doing the actual leg work and making sure the idea is complete and whole before offering it? Or learn to take criticism instead of being such a baby.
