Project scoot advertised here in Sydney. Is it a GS or a GL?? or something else? I've asked the seller but yet to get a response.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vespa-Piaggio-1957-1958-Genuine-Italian-Scooter-150cc-/140879391489?pt=AU_PocketBikes&hash=item20cd10eb01&_uhb=1#ht_670wt_936

I'd be interested in opinions of what looks right or wrong.

Cheers

Neither, it's an older model, a widebody. Not sure of exactly which one, but it looks REAL nice. Advise you to look for a newer one to start with, unless you plan on being very dedicated & have deep pockets. Be a shame not to finish that one properly.

Price should take off in 3 1/2 days anyway, got 8 bids now.

Consider something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vespa-PX200E-Scooter-Imported-from-Italy-/271096500910?pt=AU_Motorcycles&hash=item3f1e9c52ae

but avoid these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-Ferrari-Red-Vespa-1966-VLB-scooter-See-my-other-Vespas-/261121655105?pt=AU_Motorcycles&hash=item3ccc104141, I'm serious.

Thanks Voodoo, I know what to look for and what to avoid. I've rebuilt scooters before.

After more searching it looks like an early GL, compare here http://www.scooterhelp.com/scooters/VGL1T.gl.html

It would be nice to have a new project if price doesnt get too high.....

Looks to be a VB1T. GS had a different headset which was similar to VBA/ VBB.

Cheers

Sorry for assuming, just looked & went 'THAT's no GL!' & speedo is wrong for both GL & GS(I think?)

Thanks for link, I have a '62 GL & never looked close at an older one. It DOES resemble the one for sale.

I hope you get it, looks like a great project start. Report back in 4 days?
