Got one of these today with my new 300GTS and so far it's been total rubbish?

I have it turned right the way up so it's sensitive and it still dont go off, you have to bang the front of the scooter HARD for it to go off othetwise it dont make a sound.

I have sat on it turned the handel bars pushed it off the stand and it still dont go off nothing.

My last Acumen and datatool alarms were 10000 times better than this, anyone got any idea's...?

Well i tried to fit the Piaggio alarm but it kept blowing the Head unit fuse, so i gave up.

I now use a disk lock with a built in vibration sensor and i think its a good solution. Any distubance of the scoot and the siren goes off. i use that in conjuction with a grounde anchor and chain at home and a chain on its own to any roadside furniture if i am out.

I have the same one, and its worked out well.
You have to position the sensor exactly like the manual says to achieve maximum sensitivity, and crank up the pot all the way.
My only complaint the remote is not very good.
Maybe a few feet tops...

I liked mine so much I installed one on my MP3.
But only because of the price...
Someone was dumping them on ebay.com for $74 bucks, so I bought two...

What do you mean? i have mine turned all the way up also, and when you say sensor what do you mean the main box-unit?

At first, mine was exactly the same as you've described. It needed a very heavy thump to activate the siren, and it would not go off even when the scooter was pushed off the center stand - which I felt was a bare minimum requirement.

I'm not sure what the manual advises regarding the exact position and orientation of the sensor box unit. Mine was initially installed by a dealer who mounted it more or less upright to an improvised bracket behind the horn cast. The function of the alarm was next to useless, even when turned up to full sensitivity.

I removed the bracket and laid the unit behind the knee pad, with some padding to stop it moving around. Although it is no longer directly touching any part of the frame, it now works much better than before.

Well i have just done that, i have tucked in right behind the left knee pad now right in the corner and have put some spong around it so it dont move and it sits snug and it seems to work better.
