I thought I read a post about it but now for the life of me cannot find it again. Does the seat on a 2009 MP3 500 have a switch in it that knows when someone is sitting on it? And if so, what is it for? Thanks!

It's not a "switch", it's a "weight sensor" on the seat cover. You won't see it unless you pull the seat cover off and the foam that covers the sensor. you can see the wires going to the seat at the front.

The sensor is so it will not raise the RPM's of the motor high enough to unlock the tilt lock (Around 2,200 RPM's) and let the bike fall over if someone isn't sitting on it.
