Modern Vespa

As we move into the colder months of the year even San Diego riding can get a bit nippy, that's why I dawn these Upside Down 'R' socks, multi-tone grey in colour and toasty warm!

What colour socks do you wear when you ride?

Socks? We don't need no stinkin' socks!

I live in Sailortown, USA, and the de riguer dress from March to November is boat shoes with no socks, even with khakis and a blue blazer (Annapolis formal).

The maritime museum here hosts the annual "Burning of the Socks" in mid-March every year:

I wear black. Black Hat. Black shirt. Black pants. Black boots. You cannot see them, but black socks and black underwear. Except that now that I am retired I am wearing Hawaiian Shirts.

getting my "Daring Plum" vespa on the weekend - will now have to look for same colour socks - might be a bit tricky but the challenge is on

Growing up in New England, we had these socks called, Gloucester House socks. They were 2-4 layers of grey wool/cotton with a big red stripe at the top. Super warm and comfortable in boots. I think the fishermen wore them.

Wish I had a pair now.

and I wear Gloucester socks on the bike currently as its below zero outside right now (friggin Canadian winter..... cuts into the riding season every year about this time!)

SmartWools..... It does not matter what color or it they match.... I always wear boots. Whoops... Okay. If I am wearing desert boots my smart wools alway coordinate with what I am wearing and they match. I'm not a slob, BTW.... Just that moving is a bitch and I'm still Trina to find and organize all my stuff, AND I have a really voracious sock eating dryer... Lately it I find two matching socks I use it as a sign and I get a lottery ticket

Wool socks from either Muji or Uniqlo. Good price, and keep my always cold feet warm.

SmartWool heavy mountaineering socks. These things are so thick, I have to remove the insert from my boots , but it's well worth it on cold days.

EDIT: forgot the color. They are grey and red.

All joking aside I wear just the plain white tube socks. But I am seriously thinking about going back to black. In the dead of the winter I have a couple of pairs of ski socks that serve me quite well.

Just can't picture those as your style sticky.
