hi all just about to embark on a restro job of my new (well to me) 1958 vespa. had it 2 days stripped and in bits. going sprayer to let him see it on monday then to blaster and then on a jig to make sure its straight, hope paint in december. heres some pics more to follow, KTF
and by the way any off you out there got spares for the scoot i may be interested. cheers

Is the licence built Douglas going to be difficult to get bits for or is everything the same as a "regular" Vespa?

Going to be an original blue. And parts don't seem to bad from India. Going to cost but be worth it I hope

a vespa douglas is made in bristol UK under licence, quick update everything either blasted and primed or will be by weekend put some pics up then, booked if at sprayer 1st dec

Nice project, did see this on ebay...... looks nice and straight forward

spareswise my mate on the smallframe forum has stuff 152l2 spares, mainly engine rebulid parts iirc

make sure you keep holda that douglas of bristol horncast badge, nice rare item

few more pics. been in the jig today to make sure frame was straight and it was goind sprayer on 1/12 still not decieded on colour

I will paint it stone grey wet look and some red accent on the rubber parts ....coz that is the color of my next scooter

But ferrari red will also be great

Or light blue as its original color

Can't do red as everton mad. Light blue is what I might go for but read to articles on veteran Vespa club says there were a few dark blues. Plus bought white rubber kit

Dark blue + white rubber will be just fine, very dark blue almost black with wet look is going to be cooler 8)
