I lucked up on a 2004 ET2 with only 980 miles on it! Seems it was owned by a couple that kept it on their "boat" (hmmm must be nice) plus I only had to pay 1500 bucks to own it. Now, a few questions #1...the clock battery needs replacing, does anyone know how? #2...I ordered a prima windshield but the slots for the mirror arms are a LONG way down and the hole openings kinda small, so once I put it all together, the only way I could put the mirrors back on was to let the clasps slide instead of being anchored- this of course causes my windshield to fold in on me at high speeds, so I had to turn the right mirror into the windshield to act as a brace to hold it upright. The extenders or mirror risers or whatever you call them, that came with the windshield are too short also- does anyone know where I can find a longer pair and finally #3 Has anyone tried to shave down their seat or had one customized because I am 5 feet tall and need just an inch or two for a better peace of mind-you know what I mean? Oh yeah and one other thing- sometimes when I am riding it to school ( 5 days a week,60 miles round trip) it will act like it wants to slow down on it's own so I will twist up alittle on the throttle, then give it back the gas and it will pick back up and run just fine. This happens at least once on every ride, no matter where I go, but not the whole trip, usually 3 or 4 times during a 60 mile outing...Thanks for the help and I would love to hear your comments on this bike and What I paid and what to expect,ect... I am a newbie- my first scooter was a rice burner-bought brand new and watched it fall apart after 6 months and $1000- so I decided to go for a Vespa

60 miles on a 50cc?
It goes around 40mph...What is speed limit are the roads are you on???
It's a great in-town scooter, but on out of town speed limits, you are asking for it....
Either, get a bus pass, and leave it at the bus station, buy a car, buy a faster scooter, or kit the thing.....
My 50cc typhoon goes 55mph with a 70cc kit.....
For those windscreens, you just have to play with them to get them right....
I have a fabria windscreen on mine, and it was a bit*h to get on the first time....
Maybe a handy friend that can figure it out....

back roads,Greg
I have no other choice as I live out in the country and to get to the college it's 28 miles each way.I take the back roads and it's almost a straight shot ( 45 mph speed limit) and my girl will go 45,even uphill she goes about as fast. Any instructions on the clock battery?

There is a write-up on the battery replacement, I believe it is in the Wiki section here on MV. You can also do a search for it, I am sure you will find the info you need. It is some work to get to where the battery is, some folks suggest not to worry about it (or get a stick-on clock to cover the stock one). Hope this helps...
