Modern Vespa

Saw a sharp looking badged 125, blue, with disc brakes? I'm sure the disc brakes didn't happen without help on here...

You sure it wasn't one of the newer ones? Vader's is yellow & a 200something.

Nope, ancient, remodeled with a nicely done set of disc brakes. External braided lines. It looked like the blue painted frame had more restoration than the rest. No turn signals that I remember. Surprised they added disc brakes to such a nice bike.

Plural, so front AND rear? That's unusual & no turns, so not a P. Hmmmm.

Just want to make sure you aren't getting confused with the new Vespa auto clone La Vita. It fooled me from afar when I saw one on the streets by me.

there was a non indicator p range n bloody sweet it was too .... the one with smooth panels is the better one

Sorry guys I've been around vespas for a long time, have had my p200 15yrs though new to the forum. This was a 60s vintage 125, nice shape that someone with talent restored and added two hydraulic disc's. The only drawback were the braided lines sticking out the headset. Some would think the mod was sacrilegious to this beautiful bike.

Very earliest P125/150 models had turn signal assembies which did not pass through the frame. If removed, it would look like a P without signals.

I'm learning. Is that what Bits is on about or did some also come with NO turns as he implies?

The earliest models I referred to were imported as Euro ones (which had NO turn signals) and holes were drilled to mount the assemblies. So, yeah, he and I could be talking about same model.

I've had two of these scooters. Both 1977 P150X models. One was sold to Secret Society SC for a raffle build. The other was built for a friend. He wrecked it.

it seems that cncjerry knows the difference between a p bike and a 60's VBB. if it could be done to a P series, it could probably be done to a VBB with enough talent.

Whenever you see that scooter you have to make sure and find the owner. Shake his hand and give him a very nice "Thank you." He's probably done more for vintage scootering in the USA than any other person and never gets credit for it.

they came with no indicator at all ... no add on no switch nothing ..... then the indicator law came out n they stopped selling them over here
