2012 GTV.

So far 400 miles and love it except my right rear tail light cover and the entire stop light/tail light assembly fell off the bike.

Installed the tall windscreen. MV was a great help. It would have taken me much longer than one hour to put it on without the great pictures here.

I hope the rest of the bike holds up better than the lights.

Welcome to Modern Vespa. You bought a great machine. The dealer should have checked all the nuts, bolts & screws for tightness before turning over the scooter to you. It probably wasn't tightened well at the factory and then the dealer didn't check it as part of the pre delivery inspection. Enjoy your new Vespa.

Sorry to hear that. Items falling off are your dealer's fault, as dnhill says. I checked all the exterior screws on my 2012 myself, and found one or two that needed just a little bit of tightening.

Here's one you might miss: check the front fork cover (colour matched to your scoot) on the right side. That screw might be loose, also.

Well, I did it again. The entire tail light assembly came off again. It was just after my son filled up with gas and I think he may have spilled gas on the housing. Not sure if that caused it or not. Now on to my third one.

What the heck?

This should not be happening. How is that taillight assembly attached?

Missing information
We definitely aren't getting the full story here.. Perhaps OP could provide some photos? Parts don't just fall off a bike more than once if there isn't an underlying problem.

Yea-I had the same thing happen to me-only on a GTS. I had overfilled the gas tank more than once and sure enough, the rear brake light assembly just fell off and was hanging by the wiring harness as I drove up a major road here. A nice man in a Mercedes made sure I was aware of it dangling behind the scooter.

You could tell the plastic pins that fit the assembly to the bike had deteriorated and I chalked it up to my gas filling problems. Bought a whole new rear light assembly, cleaned the bike up real good and stuck it back on.

That's been three years-at least and no problems since.
