I have a PX bad case.. the internals are not great either...

What are my options:
1) Get another vespa motor and rebuild..
2) LML motor... complete

What do we think about #2?

I'll speak to the option #2.

I bought a Scooterworks LML150 last year and installed in my 85. I then ran it for 4000 miles across the country in all weather and rain conditions. Not once did it not start and run all day while hauling around a sidecar, a complete camping kit and this old guy. Ran it over the rockies at 23* and thru rain storms in the south that made frogs put on rain gear, it just kept on running.

Your mileage may vary..

I can 2nd the LML motor as well. I've heard things about the cranks not being so good, but otherwise I've had no problems. (I did swap the crank right when I got the motor and the primary too.. but NOT because there was anything wrong with the parts that came in the motor) A solid option for sure.. in my O

My experience with Stellas: I had an '03 that I put over 10,000 miles on . Not all trouble free, but still not bad. When I sold it I informed the new owner that the crank was running on borrowed time. That did not bother him as he was going to put a Mazzy crank in it that he had sitting on the shelf. He put it off and the engine imploded within a few months. He rebuilt it and it is now doing great. I have heard of some failing as soon as 3,000 miles, some lasting as long as 18,000 miles.
My 2 cents: I would find another Vespa engine. I think the cranks or a least the bearings are better made. Good luck with your decision.

My mileage varied all right. 2800 miles and the Stella blew up thanks to broken oil pump gears. Hard seize and good bye to all that. It was a problem scooter from start to finish. Which took about two months out of my life which i will never get back. Stellas are total crap shoots with the emphasis on crap.
