Just a short story about RoadID

In April, a good friend of mine died 2 minutes from his house in SF while running. He was VERY active. He had no ID. His family was frantic for 9 hours. Eventually, the coroner reverse tracked his path from his GPS watch and went door-to-door. Eventually, his family experienced their worst nightmare. RoadID wouldn't have saved his life but would have spared his family the immense anguish they experienced.

I only wear my RoadID when I bicycle (which I do a lot) or when I don't normally carry ID. Everyone will appreciate that authorities can connect you with your family, even on minor skirmishes with disaster.

For $16-$20, minus 20%, you can't go wrong.

For the posers, it looks cool as well.

MR: Thanks for posting the discount code.

Miguel

PS: No connection to roadID. Just a satisfied customer. Purchased one for my bro and my best friend.

Agree, great for when you have no ID. But our bikes have plates that can easily be tracked back to an address and you're suppose to be carrying your drivers license with you so, don't see how they help out on a motorcycle.

WEB, I agree w u wrt being on a motorcycle.

But a lot of us do other activities that don't attach us or require us to carry ID, e.g. bicycling, walking, running, hiking, skiing, surfing, standup paddle boarding, out photographing, motorized activities that don't require ID (motocross, jet skiing).

Its those types of activities where I wear my roadID.

It was likely in that vein that MR posted the link.

Your wallet can also be locked in a saddlebag or under the seat, or fly out of your pocket (or be ripped out as you are dragged across the pavement) on a bike, motorcycle, or scooter - the RoadID will ideally be attached to you even if your wallet is not easily accessible...

Thats a good point and one I'd forgotten. I used to wear my RoadID on my handlebars till by firefighter neighbor said to me, "You should wear it on you. They take you to the hospital, not the bike."
