I'm German and I certainly don't want you being my spokesperson actually.
Regarding the door locks I have 9 options and could care less how any one of those cages lock, FFS.

If we had automatic door locks on our MX-5, it would be safer in a roll over?
Kayemtee-
Go to the Bay Deli, park that Mercedes out front, go in, sit down and and enjoy coffee and bagels the way G-d intended: - amongst a crowd of nice Bayside people. Cupholder? Schmupholder!
Besides, you don't want to do coffee and bagels in such a nice car. My cousin Morty is still trying to get the smell of the garlic and "everything" crumbs out. Has five pine tree things from the South Bronx (OY!) hanging and it still smells like Profosky's Deli in there.
Speaking of Bay Deli, wanna meet for lunch on 11 Dec while we are enroute to JFK? Don't need to be there until 2:30 or so

Our Toyotas don't have auto locks or windows, we crank and Mrs Wmak obsessively circles her Matrix every time she gets out, checking to see if the doors and hatch are locked. I just leave the Tacoma unlocked, nothing in it to steal, practically everyone in town knows everyone else, in summer, it's hot as hell, so I leave the windows down as well. I have rented cars that lock once you put the selector in drive, and I find it annoying. I once had a VW Rabbit that would automatically activate the shoulder belt. One time, I unlatched the belt, and forgot that the car wouldn't start until it was attached. I went for about a week before I remembered to re-attach the belt. It was embarrassing, but I told that story on myself for years.
