Here's an article from the New Yorker. I'm sure Trep can relate to this.

If you ever want to get away from all of that... I have a very nice futon and guest bedroom that my dogs can vouch for...The dog is welcome as well!
Praying to continued safety of the Treppenwitz clan. |

Feel for ya, Trepp,
Whenever I get a bit of news from there I think about you (my only direct contact there) and how things are going. There's nothing like having a routine of your choice...mixing it up now and then can be fun, but it gets old. I banged up my knee in a stupid ice skating fall last year and remember how much fun it was trying to sleep with it, even with my wife leaving me alone and my kid in her bed (and dog buried in the back yard ) *sigh* Good to know that nothing lasts forever...it just sometimes feels like it. All the best from the Midwest. |

So long as it results in an enforceable end to years of rocket fire, I am for it. If it is simply a lull which will allow rearming and increase in their ability to strike at my country's population... I'm not so sure it has any value.
Time will tell. The home front command has just ordered all residents of the south into the shelters for the next hour because it is assumed that Hamas will try to fire as many missiles as possible before the cease fire takes place (in 45 minutes). |

Glad you're still around to regale us with your stories. Hoping this cease-fire lasts and I really feel for the losses on both sides. It's just a sad thing. |

The New Yorker article reminds me of most of "Life is Beautiful". The extent that parents will go to get children to enthusiastically comply and save their lives.
I pray for a peaceful solution to this 5000 year old issue. |

One of the bigger concerns we have around here is that maybe we won't be able to get twinkies.
Kind of puts things in perspective. I'm not the first and I won't be the last to say stay safe. |

Accommodation is free, working is optional, drinking a beer at the end of the day with a BBQ is compulsory. It's so flat you can damn near see the curvature of the earth, nothing in view for miles in any direction, and it's quiet enough to hear your own breathing. Bring you family. Bring your friend too. |

Just read a headline this morning- "Pause-Not Peace"
Well, here's hoping and praying that it's a long, very long Pause and that everyone on both sides can take a Peaceful break. Prayers are with you Trepp. Be safe. |
