I haven't been around much and the last week has been a total C-F. Last Friday Nov. 9 I rode to work, parked my scooter, did my usual lock downs, and went to work. No problem until loss prevention called me to their office. That is unusual and seeing a police officer standing there was not something you want to see. He was filling out a report on my scooter and needed the vin number. It turns out someone threw it in the back of a truck, well actually two worthless soles according to a witness.

The upshot is, the witness did not get a license number so my scooter is gone. I've only had it since April and miss riding like nothing I can describe especially when I dump $40 to $50 worth of gas in the truck a couple times a week.

Any one in Kentucky or close by hears anything let me know. But it doesn't look good so far. The police have "closed" the case because the witness could not give them any information that would lead them to a suspect. Also keep those eyes and ears open for any chop parts showing up. The front end was locked, the immobilizer in play, and I also had the front disk brake locked to the wheel with a Kryptonite lock.
One of my last pics of my friend before thieves ruined my day last Friday.

this really sucks. but if you were ever to recover it it won't be the same scoot. thieves suck and they don't care and damage stuff. just make sure you claim any and all belongings you had under the seat, the losk and anything else.

The lowlifes will get theirs in the end. I hope there is a special place in hell for scumbags like them. Sorry for your loss.

That really stinks. Unfortunately, you will probably never see your scooter again and probably wouldn't want to after the thieves finish their task. I hope you have insurance and it covers theft. If so, you may be able to recover a good portion of your total loss.

I'm curious as to why the police were already in the process of writing the actual stolen report on it before they had spoken to you? To me that is very strange. For all they know you could have had your friends pick it up. They had no proof it was actually stolen until they spoke with you. I know that scenario is unlikely but no report should have been made at all without your prior consent and knowledge.

Sorry for your loss.

That's why I don't like disk locks, you have to lock it to something.

So so sorry but i'd be contacting your insurance company. If you do get it back it won't be the same and they'll probably total it anyway. Put some info on scoot.nets stolen section. Ya never know. I'd want to get the ass wipes who did it but i believe in karma. Do you have any security cams that you can look at? Good luck.

YIKES! WOW! Crying or Very sad emoticon So sorry to hear this! I have the same scooter and wouldn't imagine that outside of big cities like NYC or Chicago that the lifting of something this heavy would happen. I hope your insurance covers some of this loss?

I am so sorry this happened to you. I think the emotional beating you take is often worse than losing the actual THING. 'Things' can be replaced, but being stolen from can make you feel violated and helpless. It is terrible, and I hope you can get a new BV, but more importantly, I hope you feel better soon.

That's terrible. SO sorry!
My yamaha 400 special was stolen years ago in WA state- after a few years I was contacted that it had been pulled over in NV . It had a different ignition on it but they didn't charge the guy cause they couldn't prove he was the one who stole it... apparently possession wasn't enough. I ended up selling it for the tow bill to the yard in NV as I wasn't going to go get it. Always wished I had afterwards.

Terrible news. I have heard of stuff like this happening to motorcycles.

Two guys show up and some how manhandle the bike into the back of a pick up and take off.

Actually had parked my scooter at the back of a parking lot once on an errand. I ran into the store and when I ran out, a car was standing right next to my scooter. Which was odd, since there was nothing else around.

A guy in the car was on his cell phone, with his window down, eyeing the scooter. I think I surpised him, because he might have been expecting a man to walk up to the scooter.

Instead I strolled up, popped on my helmet and rode off.

Ever since then I never park at the back of a lot. I always look for spaces up front where there is a lot of foot traffic.

I hope you find the scooter.
