I choose the ones I like the look and feel of, because I like the look and feel.

I have leathers and textile, I wear both. Leather is better for sliding across the earth, it wears longer but either is better than shorts and a hoody. Clown emoticon
The ambulance attendants cut the Alpinestar leather pants off me after the incident with the tree, I still have them but they need a few stitches.
I have some leather touring pants I wear instead.

I have textile. I'd like leather but figure the cost would be substantial and not good in the summer.

My summer jacket is a BMW Airflow that MVer Kdude sold me for a song (thanks again Howard) otherwise it's a Corazzo 5.0. My pants are Tourmaster Caliber.

I'd like to know more about your leathers and pics and links would be great.

I've noticed two things over the years: leathers have gotten cheaper (in quality and construction), and textiles have improved immensely. Today's man made materials are hard to beat.
