Hello fellow Vespa people,

Long time since I posted here - I was posting under the mane Leon Russell - not really Leon though.

Anyway, I have re-registered because I lost all my login data and could not retrieve it.

The time has come for me to sell my 2007 LX150 and I need to get an idea of it's value.

2007 LX150
6300 miles
Black
all keys, manuals, etc.
Clear title
Denver CO USA

Good shape, no scratches, but a small dimple on the rear.

This scoot has been very reliable for my commute, but my priorities are starting to shift.

Thanks for any and all input.

Mark

I'm not sure but NADA list retail prices from $2,370 to $3,120. You can always "watch" a similar item on ebay to see the actual selling prices.

I sent a pm to the poster. i just sold my mint 2009 for $2985 on ebay. Dark blue with flyscreen and top box. A local seller has had his black 2010 LX150ie on craigslist for $3000. It has not sold in 30 days.

Are you are still running on the original belt? How much tread is left on the tires? Do you have service records from a dealer and/or, if you did the oil changes, etc yourself, did you notate it in a record of some type? Also, late Fall/early Winter is not the best time of the year to sell a scooter. These things are going to affect what someone is likely to pay you for your scooter.

I listed mine on ebay with a $3200 reserve. At this time of year I didnt really expect it to sell. Once the price got to $2700 i lowered the reserve to let it sell. In the end i thought $2985 was a fair price for it. Ebay gets $125 though. If I had waited until next spring I doubt that I would have gotten much more for it. Ive seen 250s go for $3500 so I never expected to get that high. I still have one LX in the garage and sold this one to give me a little cash. My daughter turned 16 and will need a cheap car in the spring. Oddly enough the buyer didnt ask a single question before purchasing and then had the scooter shipped from Indiana to Michigan. He used Uship and it only cost him $220.

Picked up my 2007 LX150 for $2400 from a cycle shop in September, 2000 miles, few scratches on front fender, otherwise very clean. No topcase or windscreen tho....

Take lots of hi-res pictures, especially of the dimple, spread out all your service receipts and snap a pic of this too, look at a few *good* ads on your local Craigslist, here on MV, or EBay ands then emulate their style. Start it at $2900 and listen to offers.

selling it
I agree with Masala. If the scooter is in good shape, shine it up and take 2 dozen good photos, preferably on a sunny day. Show all body panels, the engine, speedo and tires. take a pic showing the keys, owners manual and title. You can cover personal information on the title with the owners manual. Just seeing that you really have it puts some peoples mind at ease, especially if its an ebay auction. Show any defects in the photos as well, that way people know what they are getting. Some people dont care about a minor ding others wont it flawless. Seeing it lets them decide.
