I want to buy a wrench specifically for this application. Is it a 24mm or 25mm nut on the outside of the plug?

Thanks!

24mm. I would recommend do a search on YouTube for DIY oil change in Vespa gts.

Thanks.

I've done oil changes x3 already on the Vespa - just always used an adjustable wrench to get the plug off. This last time it was oriented in such a way that I just couldn't get a good "hold" on it, and caught myself wishing I had a properly-sized box end wrench to do the job.

I'm going to be the contrarian here. It is 24mm, but a 15/16" socket (or wrench) is just slightly smaller, and fits on the oil drain plug with slightly less play.

Generally speaking, 24mm and 15/16" are interchangeable.

Jettin makes a tool for this and the hexagonally-topped filter. It is the red one in this image:

Made of aluminum and therefore not the strongest material for such an application, but with proper handling it works. I have one.
