had a 190 in it. Fast as hell on the street. Was definitely most powerful bike I had back then. Ran across it a few years after this pic was taken and i talked with the dude. Never met him before but he told me to go take it out for spin - who was I to say no?

That's awesome, Are you still racing?
I like your small frame racer.. got my wheels spinning for a trade, but I don't know what I'd do with it... Racing takes more time than I could commit (and spousal approval good luck here).. I'd love to go do some laps on a propper bike, but I'd need to find someone who wouldn't mind a laydown or two! You got the 80's P, you're looking for another street bike? What kind of street bike are you looking for? |

You got the 80's P, you're looking for another street bike? What kind of street bike are you looking for? Since you migrated to the west coast you are around a fair amount of tracks. There are some good riders down your way that have been active in this years races - Fabio at Vepsa Motorsports, Kirk from LA, and Brooks from central coast. There are some good associations that are bringing scoots in to help them build rider count. Yup - another street bike would be cool. What am i looking for? Vespa or lambretta - something to screw around with and on. No small frames and no p125's. Other than that - pretty open. Here is an action shot from last weekend. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=511595405526469&set=o.176633152368214&type=1&relevant_count=1 |

I think Vince used a combo of YSR and TZ125 parts but I'm not sure which was from what. A friend up here in Vancouver had a track bike built by Vince in the 80's. It had a custom ported 240cc water cooled cylinder, hydraulic clutch, custom expansion chamber with power valve and twin Toomey silencers. Still has the motor, only now its in his full frame track bike.

No way, I owned that bike waaayy back in the day, too! Did you trade it for 2 P125's in Santa Cruz? That is how I came to own it. It had a 225cc kit on it and accelerated like crazy. The small end came apart on me one day at a race in Sacramento and I decided that was enough fun and sold it. The guy I sold it to painted it in Italian flag colors! I think that was '92-'93...!
Oh ya, the bike was called "Ghost" |
