Haven't had time to ride the GTS in quite awhile -- work needs forced me to choose over and over again "The Van". It was just hell...

But this morning I was all set to ride the Vespa on a sunny, 27F day. Start up the scooter, go 10 feet and it died. Tried to restart but it only takes a moment to identify the futility of cranking a GTS. If it was going to start it would. Later I discovered the sparkplug wire burned off the plug cap. Just ordered a replacement from Scooterwest.

All was not lost though. I still wanted to ride. So I pushed the Vespa back into the garage and grabbed my daughter's Yamaha Vino. Started right up and off I went. Not as quick as the GTS but still a lot of fun. Shot a picture on the way into town with the iPhone of the Vino with the ice and frost...

Sorry to hear of your misfortune! Of course these things always have to happen on days when the great majority of parts suppliers (local and national) are less-than-Open.

Nice to have the Vino as a "backup", though - I think everybody should. Great scooters, those are...

Good eye. lt's a WWII vintage M4 Sherman tank. Goes nicely with a scooter.

Steve it looks pretty much like you scooted right into the Battle of the Bulge.
