I test rode a Victory 1700cc Cross Roads bike over the weekend. They are doing a promotion in Australia for a weekend of riding including free accommodation and a tank of fuel... I took Mrs Wombat Dolphin on a trip to Newcastle - 2 hours on the freeway north of Sydney and then short trips around. On the Sunday I put Mrs WD on the train then did the Putty road ride back home. Great fun - around 7 hours of riding in total - in comparison to the GT200 remembering to change gears and use the clutch was interesting - also the braking distance and manoeuvering at low speeds were a bit tough - the good points were stability at speed and having a lot of grunt to get after it at speeds over 100kmph - anyway just thought I would share these thoughts as well as the attached photo...very happy to be back on the GT...

I've been watching the Victory promo with some interest. Do they put the thumbscrews on about purchasing afterwards?

Sounds like a fun weekend. How's the shipping of the scoot going? Any news? Don't forget we want pictures of the scoot coming out of the crate on arrival!
Good luck with the new life out there! |

Prefer the GT200...I feel the same way after trying many motorcycles.
Once you've had a GT (or any Modern Vespa), you can never go back. |

Awesome promotion. Never heard of anybody doing that here. Very cool. Glad you made the most of it. 8) GT'S are bulletproof.
