Anchor Steam is a pretty darned OK beer. I broke into their brewery once by mistake and the lone brew master that was there found me and my friend, gave us a great tour of the place and then free run of the tasting room. We saw ourselves to the door a bit later. Nice folks there...not calling the police and all.

I bet what I sent out will arrive on the 20th, if it isn't already en route to the recipient's home today.

I don't slather it on like peanut butter the way some of my Aussie friends do. I just like a little bit with butter on my morning toast.

VERY cool local treats. An A1 Batter Finger(goofy silicon spatula), one of those things I always forget to replace on occasion. Cept this one is funny looking too! Gonna use it making dinner tonight! I was confused when a box arrived for me from a place I wasn't expecting. I totally forgot about the MV gift exchange! I was very excited to open it, and the contents were amazing!!! Lovely - I meant Ohio is lovely. My penmanship is atrocious. I enjoyed visiting my pals in Cleveland. Driving through Amish country was great, too. It really is a nice part of the country.

I had so much fun with this gift, particularly once I'd trolled through back posts and jogged my memory that you were the one with the "Buy the ticket, take the ride" graphic on your scooter. (Of course your avatar was an effective clue too.)

The addition of the earplugs was truly kismet. I was packing things up and thought "gee, I want to add one more little thing" and suddenly remembered I had those squirreled away. How amazing that they were something you planned to go out and get at the weekend!

And yes indeed, big thanks to ScootChef for organizing this! Now that she's out here in SF I hope to have the pleasure of meeting her in person sometime soon!

TOM do you know what to do with the pig? Tradition has it that after your holiday meal you break the pig with it's hammer and give all the people there a piece. Supposed to bring you good luck for the coming year. Dates back to the 1800's. I so miss my part of the world sometimes. Good eye WITCH. 8)

Saratoga Sweets is like a half mile up the road from me. I can get there faster than I can get to work. If the wind is just right, you can smell when they're boiling the peppermint for miles around.

They told me all the Peppermint Pigs come with an info sheet explaining the tradition. I didn't open it to look, though.

I'd be up for it too -someone take the reins! It sounds like a good excuse to try some local brew and share my finds. You are very welcome! I love the exchange. I hope to meet you soon too QuipMC. I had plans to attend the Big Wet One in a few weeks but because of a family issue, I need to travel that weekend. I'm sure our paths will cross soon.

YUM. We used to get them from my aunt when i was little. They should come in a bag with a small hammer and instructions. The chocolate is actually quite tasty. I did notice the address. Yup not far from you. Hope your feeling better.

Perhaps Ohio is a nice place for the weekend, but I personally feel it is not a nice place to live. I will escape one day! Have not done much traveling in my life, but I really fell in love with Indianapolis when I went there. Anywhere warm year round seems ideal to me! You got nothing wrong, so no worries! Maybe I lived in San Diego in a past life or something haha.

I received my delicious package today from Abilene, TX! Grinning the whole time I tore into the box finding these goodies. So awesome! Thank you so much Karoleigh! The candle smells so good. And the peppermint candies followed by the jelly bellys will be first to disappear. shortly followed by the apple lolly and awesome smelling dark chocolate with chipotle. Mmmm! Thank you so much!

I just got a great package from North Carolina. I'll post a photo later tonight. Right now I have to go take a doctor's deposition. Lucky me!!!
