New here but not to scooters and bikes. Been riding off and on since 1990. Down to two scoots right now: 1982 Honda C70 Passport and a 1985 Honda Aero 80 (which I picked up recently for $400 - runs perfectly, just needed a battery). Here are some pics. And yes, the Passport is in my kitchen. That's my daughter in one of the pics.

Welcome NLSg don'thave many riders from your neck of the woods. How's riding upthere? Love the passport. I saw a show a while back where they flat out abused a cub but it kept on ticking. A Lady in my SC has a Symba and absolutely loves it

Welcome from the other coast, Vancouver Island.
I have only been posting for a short time but haunted this site for a while, most informative this site and quite friendly.
Enjoy.

Thanks guys. Riding in Newfoundland is still possible. I was out last night on the Passport. A bit nippy but worth it. Today is a cool 4C / 40F. Calling for warmer weather tomorrow.

I had a blue Passport (1983) but just sold it because I needed the cash. A friend bought it so at least it's gone to a good home. He might put a larger engine into it. He is a marine engineer so tinkering with a C70 is no big deal. He has 5 other bikes, mostly dual-sports.

Here's a pic. It was in pretty good shape, all original, no restorative work done. I paid a grand for it. Sold it for what I put into it.

I was also into super-motos. This is my last bike, a 2009 KLX250SF. I miss it but I needed the money to finance the purchase of my MX-5 Miata.

This little Miata is what I drive when I'm not riding a scooter or carting my kids around in my Sienna or Camry.

Looks like a great forum. I look forward to getting to know some of you.

I saw that too. Charlie Boorman was involved. I think it was called Greatest Ever, Top Ten Bikes of All Time, on the Discovery Channel. It's true though, the Honda Cub is bullet proof and was a real game changer for the motorcycling industry. it literally put entire nations on the road. Like the Vespa it has great historical significance. Nice to look at too. The Symba was on my radar for a long time but we don't have a dealer here on the island. And I bought my two Passports for a fraction of what a new Symba would have cost OTD, so it was an economic decision for me. My wife rides too so it made sense to have two bikes. The Aero was a barn find I couldn't pass up. I liked it so much I kept it. I love two strokes.

I love Vancouver Island. First scoot I ever rode was a rented Spree in Victoria in 1990.

Hi,

In the photo of your Kawasaki in your second post, where are those stages? Quidi Vidi?

Come June, I'll be at my summer place in Trinity Bight.

You got it. The pic that has me in it was taken in "the gut" down at Quidi Vidi.

Living in Sicily with a summer place in Trinity Bight, you know how to live!

Haha, ya we do. I just like to keep my bikes clean. The killer up here is salt used on the roads to melt ice. And salt in the air from being close to the ocean. It's a corrosive environment so I do what I can to stay ahead of it. My Miata has never seen salt, it's nearly 14 years old. And the vehicles I drive in the winter are undercoated / rust checked.

Went for what might have been my last ride of the season on my Passport.

Here's a little report I wrote for another forum I am involved with called Ride the Rock. Note that my report starts about mid way down the page.

All in all a great day!

The snow has come to Newfoundland. Makes me long for my Miata and my bikes.

And today I took my Passport out for a little tinkering. I love my Little Cub.

Great photos of your collection. I love Nfld and have been there many times. My partner is from Nfld and we'll be making a trip there summer of 2013 for a wedding.
