My scooter mechanic says my stock front shock is bad on my S150. What are your recommendations for replacement. Almost 8000 miles on the bike.
Bitubo, malossi, or other replacement shock?

Thanks in advance for your experiences and advice.

Big fan of the Malossi front shock.

The Bitubo and Malossi both can be tuned to feel very nice but in my experience the Malossi is much more durable.

Years back I removed a functional Bitubo front from my own bike after examining another that had failed. Went back to stock rather than ride on a shock I was not confident in.

In total I have seen 3 Bitubo front shocks break/fail, Malossi....zero.

My $0.02.

I have a Malossi on my front and love it. Had to get the Bitubo for the back since Malossi doesn't really make one for it. Well they do but it's like $600. SURF how many miles so you have on your S. I noticed a big difference for the better after i put them on. Our roads really suck so even tho their good i'll probably go thru them quicker. Good luck

Thank you for the advice. I was leaning towards the malossi and I think your experiences solidified it.
Any idea if The front shock is something I can easily install myself? How much time should it take if its the first time changing the shock?

It's also about time to change the front tire, So I may try to do this at the same time or at least remove the wheel and take to the dealer to change.

Thank you both for sharing your experience with the shocks.

Running Bitubo both ends without drama - and that has included a few fast, long, laden runs (can you say "airborne"?). Vast improvment on stack GTS250 (300 seems to come with better shocks) - dunno for LX, but guess they'd be a step up.

Malossi probably better - but under the southern cross Malossi are twice the price of Bitubo and - well - it's a scooter. (only one of the two Wilbers shocks on my BMW would cost more than everything I've done to both Vespas - ouch!!)

Good news is, that in the two-wheeld schem o' things, aftermarket scooter shocks are stunningly good value!
