Well worth a look at this drone view of some central London landmarks. Not sure how they did not get shot down. You will see the tech used right at the end of this very cool video...

Fantastic video!! I investigated building one of these earlier this year and took the first steps but realized I already have lots of things to do in life and dropped it. I'm still fascinated by them tho. The have been built with 4, 6, and 8 routers and called quad-, hex, and octacopter. Most have a payload capacity of a few pounds - usually enough for a good quality video camera and video link back to the pilot. Cost varied from ~$1K-$5K + payload. They are much more stable and easier to fly than a traditional radio controlled helicopters. Some even have enough sophistication that they can fly even if one prop fails. I think these will become more popular and many municipalities will ban them in urban areas. Some large cities Police Departments are using them.
Most sites "highly recommend against flying in urban areas for the obvious reasons. Regardless, that was an excellent video and one of the better one's I'd seen. Thanks for posting!! Best Miguel |

Not impressed.
Hard to take seriously compared to this, not to mention better music (scooter about 35 seconds in, also at 4:50): https://player.vimeo.com/video/53043267

I sell UAV's and fly with them professionaly since 2y for big companies and the film of London is a nice try but i see allot of errors in that one.
In the film about China i did not see many shots made by a UAV but actually that is hard to tell because of the many effects they used here. I have a few films from about a year ago, these are not spectaculair but i chose these so you can see real aerial images. The first is for a real estate agency : http://vimeo.com/40972108 The second one is for a insurance company, this one is 90% aerial : http://vimeo.com/32986617 |

Ok, well seeing as we are getting competitive. Try this where there is REAL flying (100%) and some great shots towards the end and the final 10 secs of the landing too.

I am dizzy(ier)! Great video of your city. Amazing how London has changed in the past 25 years with all the new skyscrapers and paint.

The fish eye effect is typical of the GoPro camera they used. (The little square silver box shown on the drone thingy at the end of the video).
