Modern Vespa

Just picked up a 2013 GTS 300ie this afternoon to replace our LX 150ie. My wife was ready to step up and is already enjoying the power, braking, and stability improvements of the bigger scooter.

but its got a 250 horncasting
unless thats just for your markets

but our gts 300 dont have that light

I was just thinking the exact same thing, that looks like an old style GTS with that old horncast on? it looks more like a 2008 bike to me, saying that
in the US they get there stuff on some models years after us or at least a long time after.

Thanks, guys! It's definitely a new 300, not a leftover 250, so I don't know what's up with the horncasting. it's got to be a US market thing.

David, I just swept out the garage again. I don't know how that leaf got in there!

well as far i know all uk gts 300cc do not have light ,only our
250cc ,mines a 300 look at my horncast in pic with granson

His looks like an older model body maybe the 250 or early 300 with the new type engine bolted on, as most of the older stuff ends
up in the US as they get everything a long time after us here in europe/UK.

Still i love the colour, i wish i could get the 300 super in that blue, you cant get the 300 or 125 in that colour over here any more, they stopped it some time ago.

Grats on your new GTS! Now the fun part begins...bring on the mods...and riding of course.

The Vespa USA website shows the 2013 models in blue and bronze with a mix of images with/without the light in the horncasting.
Personally I like it as a feature but either way that colour is pretty stunning.

Sorry for thread jack but can someone say more about "the light in the horncast" please.

Picture would be good. eg at night.

The GTS Super does not have a light in the horncast, the GTS 300 does. Vespa only import the Super into the UK.

The GTS300 sells relatively few in the UK so they only import the one version.

I was just curious to see what a light in that position looked like on any Vespa that had it..

Although the GTS does not have a horncast light, here is a link to help you add running white lights to the turn signal ports, if you wish.

I really like that idea and the look of it. Extra visibility can only be a good thing.

Must investigate these further and also see if that would be legal in N.Z
