panels being plastic,
I have wanted to make a pair of acrylic panels for about a year now. There is a place in LA that will expeariment with me. They have a plastic form moulding machine that will handle 4x8 sheets. Anyway, great idea.
Vacuum forming? That'd work good for a Lammy with the shallower panels & you could get creative with molded in detail. Tooling isn't too tuff to make either for this purpose, no close tolerances, tweak til it fits as desired.

DO It Jimmy. Get Lexan if they do it, you'll never break 'em.

I don't know what to call it, but this guy should have blacked out the rear signals and put chalk or something on his face.. he's kinda blowing the whole monochromatic thing with his flesh colored flesh!

The first pass would be whatever is affordable. I work props on films, commercials and tv so I kinda do buisness with a wide variety of vendors. Everything from picture vehichle rental to prop making.

We found this shop that has a vacuum bed. Basically a flat surface with a hundreds of holes and big array of heating coils on top. No tooling required in some applications. You just put the item on the bed, choose your sheet, and then trim when done.

The engine cases with the electric starters need a different type of flywheel cover.

It has changed, I am sorry you don't see it. But still, here it takes a lot longer to get to same result on the MV side. Unfortunate, but that is where it is right now. It took time to dig this deep and it takes time to dig back out.

Hell, look at TravisNJ, he is practically an upstanding citizen now!

He did not get that way because people attacked him, or he felt threatened by the banhammer... he just matured...

And that is no knock on Trav, it is pure admiration. I wish I was I was as together as he is at his age. Dude is busting a nut to make some money off what he loves to do, and that deserves respect.

Might be over there, if they made them, but in Italy probably like this, best I can find out. You have these there?

just my 2 cents on the whole LML engines thing-

the engine itself is a superior design. reed valves and better ports. electronic ignition. etc.

HOWEVER

everything IN the engine (bearings, seals, rings) is JUNK. electronics are JUNK. and scooterworks won't help you when it blows up.

when I first got into this, I dropped a $900 new LML crate motor (with a ducati CDI) into my Bajaj Priya. it blew up less than a year later -- the bearings on the crank seized and ate up everything on the flywheel side. the scooter was stock and set up correctly (no oil starvation, no racing, etc). scooterworks refused to replace it under any warranty. said "I should have tested it first."

tore apart the case, installed new Italian bearings and seals, new Mazzy crank and a Polini 177 with a race pipe and it's been a tank ever since. can't find a pretty chrome cover that fits the stupid LML case though

This is exactly what I did.. same result.. new bearings, seal, crank, topend, carb.. and it's excellent.. In hindsight, I'd have just bought the empty LML case and filled it up. The cases, case, case 1/2's whatever.. are worthy, and good enough to put good quality parts into. in.... my.... O!
