ever since installing mountain lion, 'we' have not been able to select(one) and then drag to select additional emails to: edit, toss in trash or whatever.

here is what was posted to my posting of this problem on the mac forums:

It turns out that now we have to double-click and hold (w/o releasing) on a message list item and then we can select multiple messages while still holding.
Of course, in the past, and in every other Mac application, we never had to double click before.

this solution works...

There are other alternatives. You could click the first message, then hold down shift and click the last message. This will select all messages in between.

You could also click the first message, hold down Command, and then click additional messages, even if they aren't contiguous.

Shift-Click and Command-Click can be used in almost any list or group of items on the Mac to select either contiguous (shift) or non-contiguous (command) items.

those are additional ways, but before ML just dragging with the mouse worked very very well..
..after...not at all since the update. until the double click thingy.
