I'm happy with GEICO but haven't had to make a claim yet (thankfully) so don't know how that would work out.

Although not in Cali , just went through this. Everyone of my buddies has a different rate for practically the same coverage. The only thing that made a difference was completion of the MSF course. zip code does play a factor, so if the crime rate is higher, you will too.

I went with Progressive. Low cost, and VERY good service on my current claim - only took 3 days to get a check to replace my damaged armor/gear, and they're doing a great job with the shop to rebuild my scoot.

Of course, if you have other insurance you should check on insuring the scooter with the same company. Companies usually offer multiple vehicle discounts. For what it's worth, I'm happy with State Farm here in Nevada. One more thing: Be sure to get good UM coverage. Why spend your money just to protect the other guy. Protect yourself too.

I have Geico for all my vehicles.
I've never had to file any claim for the PTW's, but the car my daughter uses recently took a road rock to windshield. Geico arranged to have it repaired by a reputable well-known vendor and the job was done within a day or two. No muss, no fuss. So far, so good. 8) You should ask them about their roadside assistance, too. |

I've been a USAA customer since 1972. They have quit covering boats and motorcycles and sent us over to Progressive. I've saved a lot of money and USAA vouches for them, so now I just hope they will service claims when I need it...

State farm and progressive seem to be the winners here. Some one mentioned Geico. but i'm looking for cheep insurance. to save money. i can mainly work on my own bike if problems arise. there's no decent shops here for maintenance.

I have State Farm across the board and have called the discount companies a few times and they always cost more.
$85 every six months for my P200E. I have a large umbrella policy though so that might impact it. I am in CA but I don't think State Farm will cover only a scooter / motorcycle; you need to have cars as well. |

I think Nationwide overplayed it's hand with it's customers. At least they did with me.
My agent was great, and any claims were quickly and righteously taken care of. No complaints there. But they seemed to assume that since I had been long term customer, that I would always be a long-term customer and would happily pay the bill, no matter how uncompetitive it had become. They were wrong. |

These threads tend to go nowhere for the very reason Jim has given below - quoted from an Insurance thread 4 months ago.
