Trying to help a new member with her windscreen. She calls her BV200 a 2005 all Euro sites list Beverly 200 to 2004. I found the windscreen I think she wants but need to confirm model compatibility. Advise?

I've read here that USA model years are somewhat nonsensical.

Mine is a 2005. I think they might have made them to 2006 (not 100% sure about that- memory isn't what it was ) The 250 came right after. The 200 has the factory fly screen- tinted and small.

It has a 17 digit vin. Reading the vin from left to right the 10th digit is the year model.

ANy guess as to why EU parts only list to 2004? Am I missing something?
I'll PM the member Kathleen, to confirm the vin and exactly which screen she wants.

Thanks! Bob and David!

Tom

We don't have model years in Europe, so it is difficult to match via that method. A US market vehicle of "Model Year" 2005 was probably built in late 2004.

For parts purposes, if there isn't a VIN specific issue, we European people will be presented "production years", and typically as a block of years. "2002 - 2004" or "2004 -", for example. The latter being open ended and representing from 2004 until present or 2004 until production ended.

More common over here is to change the model designation when there is a significant change in a given vehicle. It is not unusual for a given vehice to be produced for multiple years without significant change, as there aren't "Model year" pressures to artifically spur change.

As far as registration and title, the date the vechicle was first titled is given in a mannersimilar to "Model Year" in the US. Production date is found on the vehicle somewhere, but isn't generally of interest.

She's probably looking for the taller screen that is clear at the top and has a tinted section for the bottom similar to the factory flyscreen that comes standard on bv200's. There are pics available online- just type "bv200 windscreen" into your browser to see them. I actually had one sent to me by mistake when I first bought my bv200. The dealer had me mixed up with another customer. I gave it back to them. I heard that they are now very hard to come by. Maybe ebay or just check with a dealer.

Thanks BV but finding the parts is easy, confirming fit, not so easy. Actually searching EU sites is more successful using beverly 200. I started with the obvious first.

Al, thanks!

All, where is vin found on a BV?
