Pretty sure that the VL3 scoots were widebody so you would have some serious modifications to do to make it work. It certainly can be been done, but it's not 'plug n play' so to speak...

We make and sell those right here in California.
That being said, what is wrong with your VL3 motor. The VL3 is the 2nd most powerful widebody motor (after the GS150) and if it is set up properly the power will be similar to a VBB. |

Not only do we design and manufacture certain products for vintage scooters, we also have a 4,000-square-foot shop filled with new, used and NOS parts.
We are big-time hoarders of everything for vintage bikes. There are never less than 100 scooters in the building: some in for service, some in to be restored, some that we personally own and a whole bunch of complete scooters that are waiting for the right buyers so we can restore them. Yes, we are working on a web-based mail-order marketplace. But, if you're looking for a part, especially for a rare bike, you can always call us. We are the only exclusively vintage scooter shop in California and, most likely, on the West Coast, and we've been doing this vintage scooter thing with customers all over the world for many, many years. So, yeah, lots of parts and lots of bikes. |

When I got the bike years ago, the engine was seized and completely corroded. The bike is mostly complete, missing only a few minor non essential items. That is, other than the engine. The engine that was in it was sold for the minimum parts that could be reused.
So essentially I have a complete frame body cables tank handlebars switches complete carb tires. Missing engine speedometer and headlight glass. I even have the original keys. I need a new engine and wiring harness. So this adapter is a great idea. I would rather not cut into the frame to modify for the engine. Are there any engines that would not need the frame modified to fit? All your help is appreciated. |

If you have a 55 vespa and you need stuff that is specific to that model, and you care enough to keep it original...........then you only have to go to one place and it's in our town. BarItalia does a bunch of different year models, but in my opinion their craft and workmanship reaches an apex on the really early models. I just rode the cayons a couple weeks ago with a buddy who has a gs160mk1(?), motor rebuilt by the Bar. He was always near or at the front of the group. Yes he is a good rider, but still, it says alot for a motor that is well over 50 years old and tearing thru the Malibu mnts on it. I'm just sayin. Maybe try putting a rebuilt, balanced and tuned, original motor in it. Just an opinion. |
