Not that I want to buy it but just seeing if anyone thinks this is worth this much.

I've seen them priced (with low mileage and in excellent condition) as low as $4500. Usually, the owners who bought them at high prices think that there is some kind of overwhelming demand for them but they find out that nobody in their right mind is going to pay an absurd price to own one. It's just a GTV in a limited edition color. There are no other differences in the body, engine or instruments. They did come with a nice presentation book but that doesn't really add any value to the scooter. You can find nice, used GTV's for sale in the $4000-$4500 range.

Value of a used scooter is what someone will pay for it. I'd guess it would be a cold day in Hades when someone put up $9K for that ride, collector's item or no .

Well a few things I would add.....
The first is the listing is horrible. No pictures, no mileage, and it is a 2007 model, the true only year they made it for USA consumption. The other thing I would mention is that everytime somebody on MV brings up a GT 60 another person makes a reference that it is just a GTV with a different color and a book. This may be true from a riders standpoint and the unwillingness for most to pay extra money for this scooter however from a collectors standpoint and an exclusivity standpoint it is much different than a GTV and always will be. I have sold 10 or more used GT 60's from 2008 thru 2012 and never sold one below $7500 ish and sold a few as high as $11000 OTD. Please do not judge this statement or the buyers of those scooters, just stating a fact. Best, SDG |

I had a Smokin Joe limited production CBR 600 f3 Miguel Duhamel signature series, only 500 were made a year for only three years.
I found that it was only worth what someone was willing to pay (and that was not much). If you can find someone willing to pay for it then buy a lotto ticket the same day, lol. Here is a link to it. http://www.justgottascoot.com/vespagt60.htm |

I saw a 1.5 mile bike go for 9500$.
Plus shipping. The value of something is determined by those willing to buy. The grey was nice....but not that nice, IMHO. I'll take a bike I can ride. Everyday. R |

First it says "100% original" and then it says restored. 100% original to me is the scooter has never been touched. No paint all the original parts. One thing that looks funny to me is how far the wheel turns. It looks to be turned almost 90 degrees. Mine does not turn nearly that far.

If anyone is looking for a low mileage, GT60, there's one on Ebay and the auction is ending today. The seller says that it has 1200 miles on the odometer and it looks like it's in excellent condition: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-VESPA-GT60-SCOOTER-ONE-OF-250-IN-THE-USA-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/221165232051?_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&forcev4exp=true

I personally think that the GT60 is a sexy looking scoot. Nice looking color scheme, but couldn't see myself paying that much for something that I probably wouldn't ride. The GTVs are unique but come in such drab colors. If you can sell these for $9500 and beyond, seems like you have a hell of a sales force. The Ford LTD was a limited vehicle. Ford limited production to the numbers they could sell. Considering there are or were several new GT60s presently floating around that were unsold, Vespa obviously didn't follow this rule. Just saying

Let's put this thread in a time capsule along with the subject bike. Fast forward 40 years, and see what the market then would be for the bike. As has been alluded to here, collectors are a different breed. No sense running them past our values and sensibilities - it won't work. Collectors will pay what they wish for something that is of value to them. Its not right or wrong - it just is.
