It seems i have to redo the motor on my 2002 et2...Questions, is it worthwhile to go 72cc? Where is the place to get less expensive good parts? Can I rejet the carb or do I need a new, larger one.
I'm not racing, just thought I'd sieze (no pun intended) the moment to add power.

Thanks

Yes, its certainly worth doing.

I'm not sure about where to get parts, i use SIP Scootershop in germany but there might be an equivalent place in the US that will have cheaper shipping.

Get a twin ring iron kit, shot be as reliable as the stock set up. Don't bother getting an aluminium kit unless your willing to spend lots on both the kit and maintenance. I like Polini, but Malossi is good too.

Other things to get are an exhaust, a high flow air filter element, new jets for the carb and some new roller weights. You don't HAVE to get all of these, the jets themselves would suffice but i would strongly recommend it to get the best out of the 70 kit.

As for the carb, its depends. ET2s came with either a 12mm or 17.5mm carb. if you have the 17.5 that will be fine, if you have the 12 then i would consider upgrading to the 17.5. Again, this might not be absolutely necessary but i would strongly recommend it.

Hope this helps!

Depends on whats wrong with it, but given that its operating at more than 7k rpm i would replace it. I don't think they are that expensive. Although that depends on what you see as expensive...

There is a couple of threads on here about the ET2...Do a search....
I put a kit on my Typhoon....Make sure your new pipe will fit, around the bodywork.....The SP3 is known to fit...on a ET2
I would get a knowledgeable scooter tuner to kit it, if you never did it before...
There are tricks, like advancing the oil adjuster a bit, and putting stronger springs in the clutch, and to jet it, and doing plug chops....
I would second the 2 ring iron kit.....I just put in new rings in my old Polini Corsa kit, and it lasted 6000 miles....so far....
