I am looking at trailers. One comes with a winch as the ramp is quite steep, looking at the my 500cc LT (UK) front and back, I can`t really see where I could attach it to that wouldn`t risk causing damage.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

Buy a flatbed trailer no need for a winch a flatbed trailer will be the same price or even cheaper
And a LT wouldn't fit on a stock motorcycle trailer i use a 2 axle flatbed trailer and drive it on bought 4 2" 5cm thick 20cm wide 150cm long floorboard planks that slide in to each other, attached a iron strip with a angle on one side |

Thanks, this is one I am looking at, specifically made for the MP3. Expensive, but takes up less room when stored than a conventional trailer.
Towing it behind a Motor Home so need something that will take up less room on camp sites too. This is the other main contender http://www.roromotorcycletrailers.co.uk longer but easily flipped over for storage. Thoughts on both would be welcome, they are around the same price. Thanks Steve |

Thanks Steve and i don't like it that the bike sits sideways and looking at the pole in the middle its for a mountainbike not for a Motor/scooter |

and a other thing when drive the wind will increase the weight of the mp3 so the 50kg over wouldn't be enough
Loading it wouldn't be easy also when connected to a car the trailer will be able to flip also when putting to much pressure on one side of the trailer |

Thanks for the replies.
Any thoughts on the other trailer in the link above? (http://www.roromotorcycletrailers.co.uk) Steve |

The Ro Ro will be modified? If possible that one I think would be the better choice. However the other one, assuming it is sturdy enough, would work too. I don't think having it ride sideways is that big of a deal especially since you indicated that it would be pulled behind an RV that will block the blast of wind from the front. Just make sure you use good ratchet type straps on 4 points and don't use the handlebars as tie down points.
Now if you did go with the winch trailer where to hook it...hmmm. Maybe pull it up backwards and use some of the exposed frame bits on the rear to hook too? Or an upper shock mount? Good luck. |

the one i 've can be tipped on his side also no problem
i don't like the 10" wheels the tyres have max speed of 45 miles a hour and the possibility of a blowout is much higher also stability of the trailer is less then with bigger wheels i did have this one before used it once and both the bigger one |

I have an MP3400 and I use a modified Van Vossen (http://www.aesmithandson.com/pages/trailer.html). The trailer folds in half (one bolt) and stands on its end, able to be moved around on casters. I store mine inside my garage. I fold it in half an then winch it from above to stand up against the garage wall. I had a welder put steel 'trays' along the frame, to match the front wheel track. Consequently I can ride the bike straight onto the trailer, strap it down and then inflate the air-bag suspension to raise the trailer and drive off. I have had various trailers for over 20 years and towed behind motorvans. Now I am older I find pushing a bike up a ramp to be more and more difficult. Although expensive the Van Vossen has been the best I have bought, and tows really beautifully. I also quite like the trailer from Suffolk. If that could be similarly modified then it too would be worth a closer look. However, it does seem to need some 'muscle' to lift the raising bar. If you want more info or pictures , just say |

Thanks.
Well that was interesting, just rang the phone number on that website and was told that they stopped doing them 5 years ago and she had no idea why there was still a website with their phone number on. Mmmmmmm. Assuming they are still available, yes, i would be interested in seeing some photos of how you have adapted it. Just need a price now. Thanks Steve |

Nothing wrong with 10" wheels - that's what the original Mini's had on them, you can get tyres good for over 80mph. Loads of trailers use Mini wheels...
