Would love to but it's yet to actually be cold here, suppose to be 65 today, it's almost December, we should be digging out of 12 inches of snow by now.

I remembered this post and thought I'd give it a try.

So I went for a ride in the snow, froze my thumbs off only to get back home and read the post all over again realizing the challenge is only for americans (and canadians..).

What a bummer.

Anyway.. Here's my proof:

Not too cold, but quite cold (-13C should be around 8F, I think.):

That's the first owners rattle can (yellow) paint job from 1962 after he crashed it. It's a really bad paint job. Underneath the floor mat it's metallic blue like every other swedish 150 GL Touring (vgla)

The second owner sold it to me a couple of years ago. He'd kept the scoot in his barn since 1974 when it didn't pass the swedish road inspection because of bad brakes.

Damn, no sidecars. And Guiseppe (my VBA) does not go out in the snow. I guess I'll have to stay home in the warm house.

Agreed. Hey Magg, what gauges are you running there? CHT and EGT? Or something else?

Replace the skis with a couple of tyres, and you have a poor mans mp3..

Mp3's, by the way, seem to be a very popular all year scooter over here. During winter everyone but the MP3 riders and the police seem to put away their bikes.

Those guages are a tacho and an egt. Unfortunately they don't work any more after a junky tried to rip them off my bike.

Imagine the work involved putting all those studs into the tyre!

These are a lot more simple to mount.

1100 or 3000B work for scooter tyres. They're tipped with carbide. We did a burnout with those tyres on top of a manhole cover at our club's christmas party. Some of the rubber was burnt, but all of the 50 or so studs stayed in place and and dug a nice little hole in the manhole cover.

-13c is cold. Today i went for a ride and it was 45f.
But a slight mist or light rain. So it felt nippy.
Years ago i used to ride my Vespa in the snow in Canada. People thought i was weird. Funny how some things don't change.

Magg how is that light on the front powered? Great looking bike too!
I've ridden in the snow just once... not that there was enough to build up on the ground. And it only lasted half an hour... but I can say that I've done it. That was a few years ago and I think that was the last time we had snow here.
