Dear all
I see many comments about rollers
I am not a mechanic or mechanically minded
What are they and as I'm coming up to getting Watson soon, are they an important thing to change or think about?
Sorry if I sound stupid. But I am

They are part of teh transmission. Changing them at certain mileages is part of the service schedule. The reason for this is they are little cylinders and they flatten out (think 10p shape against a 50p shape) and dont roll very well an can cause vibration etc.

When the rollers are due to be replaced, a lot of them are putting in Dr. Pulley's sliders in, to get better performance, and putting in a new belt at the same time too.....

You should check any warranty issues before installing Dr Pulley sliders in Watson.
I have a set for Ebony but need to finish her body work before going to my friends shop to install them, unfortunately I can't tell you yet what to expect other than I am quite frugal with my money and spent weeks online reading everything I could find before deciding to charge up the magic plastic. I started a thread when I singed on to MV about the repairs and modifications to Ebony and will update it as progress is made. Sorry I couldn't be of any real help yet Mega. |

There are no warranty issues with installing Dr Pulley sliders in the UK at least, seeing as Piaggio are starting to use them themselves in some models.

I guess that I must be missing something here on MV.
I have been laboring under the impression that "Dr. Pulley" means Drive Pulley as opposed to the driven pulley in the CVT. Am I issing something here? Is "Dr. Pulley" the name of a company making CVT parts? |
