Hey folks,

I've had a flawless past couple months riding so haven't posted in a while. I did run in to a bit of a problem starting yesterday morning which was at the end of the first 24hr+ of 30's-low 40's weather we've had this year. The engine would turn over slowly and reluctantly a couple times and then nothing. I suspect it's because the oil/gas were too viscous to really push it through the carb and get a good flow going. Anyone have any cold weather tips for keeping the bike warm and/or warming it up to a starting temp when the weather really drops here in Boston? I would like to ride as long as I can.

Hope everyone is well,

Dustin

Would it start from the kickstart?

That sounds like a starter motor or more likely a battery problem to me. Batteries can be funny in cold weather.

You know, I didn't even try the kick start. I've had it off since I was doing some transmission work over the summer and never put it on... out of sight out of mind I guess. I did get a battery charger and am going to be sure to keep it well charged this winter. Hopefully that'll be the end of it. Just wanted to know if there's a simpler solution that maybe I was overlooking. Sounds like you found it! haha.
